Ways to support the Fashion Revolution Movement

ntufashionrevoluti

To celebrate the start of Fashion Revolution Week, this blog post will share ways to support the Fashion Revolution Movement across the coming week and beyond!

So- how can you help?

Social media- the power of hashtags

With the rise of social media platforms, it is easier than ever to consume relevant content with a tap or a simple swipe!

Fashion Revolution consistently posts on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok, discussing topics about the current climate crisis alongside sharing positive progress of the movement. By scrolling through the Fashion Revolution Instagram feed, you'll find ways to get involved through talks, panels, and campaigns as well as helpful links and posts to raise awareness about the call for action.

Following the Fashion Revolution Movement through social media is a perfect way to keep up to date with the movement whilst supporting and boosting the online presence and growth!

Fashion Revolution puts forward the question: 'Who Made My Clothes'. Quickly, this question became part of the movement as people began holding brands accountable as they demanded answers about who exactly made their clothes. Hashtags like these, alongside the recent 'Loved Clothes Last', spread the message about sustainability rapidly and effectively, allowing everyone across all social media platforms to use the hashtag and share their posts.

The Fashion Transparency Index

"Transparency holds major brands accountable for their human rights and environmental impacts"

Reflecting on your personal shopping habits and making changes towards a more sustainable wardrobe is a great way to support the Fashion Revolution Movement. Fashion Revolution's Transparency Index is a visual report that analyses and ranks the largest fashion retailers and brands in terms of their transparency towards social and economic issues and is an amazing read!

Start conversations

Across Fashion Revolution week there are an array of free online events hosted by Fashion Revolution that cover topics about this year's theme: Money, Power, Fashion. The 'Money, Power, Fashion' magazine is also available to order both digitally and physically.

What better way to be involved with the Fashion Revolution Movement than joining our society! Within the society we're passionate about sustainability. From blog posts to events, being a part of it allows you to support the Fashion Revolution movement and a sustainable future for fashion.

Fashion Revolution Week

Fashion Revolution Week aims to commemorate the anniversary of the Rana Plaza Disaster whilst educating consumers on the need for brands accountability and transparency towards ethical practices. The positive progress of Fashion Revolution is something to celebrate. Supporting the movement goes beyond this week, as working towards a sustainable and ethical future for fashion is a continuous commitment!
