Sustainable influencers you need on your feed

Social media is extremely busy these days. It can be hard to find specific content creators who you want to follow, especially when it comes to sustainable fashion. With sustainability becoming a significant issue over recent years, it can be difficult to find genuine sustainable and eco-friendly content creators.

Thankfully my daily hours spent on TikTok have not gone to waste, as I’m now pretty clued up on who you should be following! I’ve rounded up my top content creators, who you can follow on social media for all things sustainable.

1. @abigalemasters

First up is content creator Abigale. If you’re not following her you need to! She shares all things sustainable fashion on her Instagram and TikTok. From styling second-hand clothing videos to car boot sale hauls, she shares how she shops and wears sustainably. Abigale’s style is super unique and fun, so I love seeing her individual style on my social media feeds as she provides amazing fashion inspiration. If you love vintage and second-hand fashion then Abigale is definitely the girl to follow. You’ll love her styling videos, one of my favourites is her styling ties TikTok, watch it here.

2. @acteevism

Next is an American content creator called Megan. Her social media is focused on slow fashion and how to shop sustainably. Additionally she also creates lots of content on living a sustainable life in all aspects, not just fashion, so she is great to follow for everyday low-waste living. Her TikToks are educational which I love having on my feed, I’ve learnt a lot through her videos. She discusses whether specific fashion brands are sustainable or not and explains everything you need to know about sustainable living.

3. @sophie.polizzi

I’ve followed Sophie on Instagram and TikTok for a while now and I absolutely love her content and fashion style. She runs her own Depop shop where she sells handpicked 90s and 00s clothing, as well as her own online shop where she sells her handmade clothing. Her shop sells hand sewn unique midi skirts that can be bought alongside matching one shoulder tops. Not only does she sell sustainable clothing, but she also frequently posts on TikTok and Instagram sharing her ethical style. Sophie posts her daily outfits on TikTok which I love to watch for fashion inspiration and she sometimes posts upcycling sewing videos which are great to watch for sewing inspiration. I’d definitely follow Sophie Polizzi if you’re not already!

4. @lelaorr

Last but not least, is fashion designer Lela Christiana. I only discovered her social medias recently but I’m so glad I did! She only has a small following but produces high quality content focused on sustainable fashion. Her Instagram is focused on her own clothing designs and creations, which are all sustainable and phenomenal. She has such a talent for sewing and design so she's great to follow if you also are into fashion design. Over on her TikTok, she posts sewing videos and tutorials of her own handmade designs and upcycling clothing. Reworking old clothes is an easy way to reduce clothing waste so watching upcycling TikToks is great for inspiration. As well as her fashion videos, Lela posts educational videos discussing whether brands are sustainable or not which is extremely useful, especially in today’s day and age where so many brands greenwash.

These are only a small handful of sustainable content creators, there are so many out there to discover. Let me know if you have any favourites that I should check out!
