Second-hand Shopping in Nottingham

Nottingham is home to many incredible vintage and charity shops. There is endless choice to shop sustainably in the city centre.

Feeling lost and not sure where to start? Here are my favourite places to shop second-hand in Nottingham.

1. Relic x Hooked

First up is Relic x Hooked that’s based in the Intu Victoria Centre. They sell handpicked vintage sportswear, streetwear and sneakers. It’s my personal favourite place for second-hand shopping. Relic x Hooked stocks all your favourite designer brands. They are always fully stocked with vintage sweaters and t-shirts. If streetwear is your style, then this is where you need to be shopping.

2. Cow Vintage

Based in Hockley, Cow Vintage is a funky second-hand store. They have a couple stores across the UK so we are lucky to have one in the heart of Nottingham. They sell a range of reworked garments and normal un-altered clothing in store. I love their reworked clothing, it has a unique feel and is a great way to increase a garment’s life cycle.

3. White Rose

With multiple White Rose stores in Nottingham, you are spoilt for choice! They sell a wide variety of recycled clothes, featuring many designer and high street brands. 100% of White Rose profits are donated to Aegis Trust, so you’re benefiting the environment and charity from purchasing.

I recommend following their Instagram, which you can find here, as they post outfit inspiration and new products for sale. It’s a great place to find style inspiration!

4. 101 Vintage

A fairly new vintage shop in Nottingham is 101 Vintage. The shop opened its doors in August and has been a hit in the city centre ever since. Stock is replenished daily so it’s always worth frequently popping in store to make sure you don’t miss out on new clothing. 101 Vintage is one of my favourites as they have a wide range of vintage tees on sale.

5. Oxfam

There are plenty of charity shops in Nottingham town centre. One of my favourites is Oxfam. My top tip is to visit frequently so you don’t miss out on new stock! You are guaranteed to find a bargain in Oxfam. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for any designer labels that are hidden amongst the rails. Especially with a student budget, charity shops are the best place to shop and to get the most for your money.

They’re my top 5 favourites for shopping sustainably in the city centre. If you haven’t visited any of them, then I highly recommend going! And there are many more vintage and second-hand shops in the centre of Nottingham to explore.

Make sure to join in on our society challenge of charity shop bingo whilst you’re out thrifting! The competition runs throughout term one, with a prize from the member who has the most points on their bingo board by the end of term one. Find out more about the competition on our Instagram page here.
