Luxury For Less
Being a student means luxury clothing isn’t in our budget. Seeing various clothing styles and designs at Fashion Week is an excellent source of fashion inspiration, however, the price tag is not so appealing.
But styles seen at Fashion Week trickle down onto the high street and affordable fashion brands take inspiration.
One of my favourite recent catwalks was the Jacquemus Spring 2022 Ready To Wear Collection. Jacqemus took their catwalk to Hawaii, which was a perfectly suited location for the earth toned and vibrant collection.
I’ve handpicked some of my favourites looks from the collection and found similar high-street items so you can wear luxury fashion on a budget.
Dungaree Dreams:
I was so excited to spot dungarees on the catwalk. Bright pink dungarees were worn by male models in a simple chic look. Dungarees are a timeless clothing item and we are seeing more dungarees being sold by affordable brands. The pink Jacquemus dungarees remind me of sustainable independent brand Lucy & Yak’s dungarees. Made from organic cotton and ethically produced, Lucy & Yak’s dungarees are an excellent alternative. And for only £56 your bank account won’t be complaining too!
Go for gingham:
A classic print and a personal favourite of mine, gingham. I loved the appearance of the gingham check in Jacqemus collection. The looks featured different colours of the print, which worked so well. Pairing the neon gingham prints with the classic blue and white gingham looked effortlessly cool. An easy look to recreate yourself, with lots of gingham clothing being seen on the high street. ASOS have lots of gingham prints on offer, as shown below.
The Statement Blazer:
As well as the collection featuring lots of earth and neutral tones, Jacqemus added in pops of bright colours. Vibrant greens, blues and pinks hit the catwalk which will definitely be a popular colour palette this summer. An oversized blazer is a wardrobe staple, they can be dressed up or down. Make a statement with this vibrant green blazer. Pull&Bear are currently selling a structured green blazer for £49.99, the pop of colour to brighten up every outfit.
What were your favourite trends on the catwalk that you’re going to recreate?
